Eric Anderson does more than kick field goals and points after touchdowns.
The Gray Collegiate Academy.senior placekicker has taken it on himself to raise funds with a national foundation to help children fight cancer.
Anderson became inspired by a National Scholarship showcase guest speaker  in Wisconsin – a placekicker with cancer who started a “Kick-IT!” campaign which went national.
He was also motivated by a friend’s younger brother who successfully fought cancer.
“I just thought why not share my gift that God gave me to help others do something I enjoy and then help save their life?” Anderson said.
He conducts a pledge drive in his “Kick-IT! with Eric Anderson” for donations for as little as $1 towards any PAT and $3 for field goals made this season.
The donations can be made at his website https://www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/1498603 ,
‘Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is a national childhood cancer foundation dedicated to raising funds for research into new treatments and cures for all children battling cancer.
After missing the season opener due to injury, Anderson has scored 22 points for the War Eagles. As of Tuesday, donators have contributed $627 towards his goal of $1,000. Following the season, Anderson plans to donate all funds to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
The next opportunity for Anderson to add points to his cause is Friday against Calhoun County. The game is a battle for first place in Region 3-2A.
