Lexington boys, Gray Collegiate earn All-Region honors

The end of the regular season means the start of the awards’ season.

Region honors were bestowed upon Chronicle Country players and coaches Friday. Fresh off completing the 1st ever undefeated regular season in program history, Lexington head coach Bailey Harris was named Coach of the Year and guard Mason Carver Player of the Year.

Wildcat teammates Bradley Foulks, Ryan Green and Jonathan Corley were named to the All-Region team along with River Bluff’s J.T. Reeves and Andrew Robinson, Dutch Fork’s DiMarco Johnson and Jarvis McCurklin, White Knoll’s Tauris Watson and Chapin’s Jarod Kelly.

In Class 2A, Gray Collegiate Academy swept the top Region 3-2A awards in boys and girls. Dion Bethea was named Coach of the Year for the 3rd straight time after the War Eagles’ routed Eau Claire 83-43 to win the Region 3-2A title and guard Tommy Bruner was named Player of the Year.

Khalil and Jalil Robinson, Jalen Deloach and Dallaz Corbitt were all named to the All-Region team. In the girls, the Lady War Eagles’ David Golden was named Coach of the Year and Kayla Gordon Player of the Year.

Like the boys, 4 Gray Collegiate players were named to the All-Region team - Adiayanna Potts, Kennede Streete, Ari Marte and Rebekah Shoope.
