Lexington’s cross-country teams had a strong showing Tuesday at the rescheduled state finals held in Camden.

Getting a runner-up finish from Zander Jeffcoat and 8th place finish from William Johnson, the Wildcats placed 3rd overall in Class 5A boys. It was the highest finish by a Lower State team as Dorman won the title followed by T.L. Hanna.

River Bluff finished in 7th place and Dutch Fork was 18th.

The Lady Wildcats also had 2 runners earn All-State honors in placing 6th as a team. Sarae Rufener (8th) and Lydia Metz (12th) were among 5 Chronicle Country runner to place in the Top 12.

Madelyn Gomez of River Bluff finished in 5th, followed by Chapin’s Abigail White (6th) and Dutch Fork’s Alyssa Lomoriello (10th). 

Dutch Fork led Chronicle Country teams with a 5th place finish, River Bluff placed 8th and Irmo was 12th.

In Class 2A, Gray Collegiate completed its best season in school history as the girls finished 12th and the boys 14th. The girls were led by freshman Hope Green who placed 35th and junior Nate Lett who was 22nd. 

Pelion (15th - boys, 14th - girls ) Swansea (18th - boys) and Gilbert (19th - boys, 18th - girls) also took part in the Class 3A final.
