The Lexington boys’ cross-country team opened the 2020 season with a victory at the Pelicans Invitational at Lexington High School.
The Wildcats finished with a total team time of 17:04.60. Heathwood Hall was 2nd (17:25.79), followed by Ben Lippen (17:57.65), AC Flora (18:18.33) and Spring Valley (18:18.76) in the Top 5 standings.
River Bluff and Gilbert finished, 8th and 13th, respectively.
Wildcat juniors Zander Jeffcoat and Owen Harries placed 1-2 in the overall boys’ standings. Fellow Lexington sophomore Grant Goldsmith finished in 6th place, followed by teammates Judson Taylor (16th), Ethan Kurtz (18th), Mason Brown (20th), Carter Goldsmith (22nd) and Jesse Oates (29th).
Lexington will serve as host site Tuesday for the Lexington County championship,
