Lexington County Blowfish return home to face Bombers

Posted

A week has passed since the Lexington County Blowfish posted its last victory - a extra innings win over the Savannah Bananas.

At 7:05 pm Saturday, the Blowfish return home looking to snap the 2-game losing streak against the Bomb Island Bombers. It’s the finale of a planned 3-game homestand which saw the previous 2 games cancelled due to wet field conditions.

The past week has also seen the Blowfish drop 2 games to the Macon Bacon. The most recent loss came Friday at Luther Williams Stadium by a 6-3 score.

Brennan Milone hit a 2-run homer as part of a 3-run 2nd inning to put Lexington County ahead 4-3. The University of South Carolina 2nd baseman leads the team in home runs (4) and RBI (9).

Macon answered back with a 3-run homer from Freddy Achecar in the 3rd inning. He later added an RBI single in the 5th and Jake Glitter closed out the scoring with a sole HR for the

Bacon.

It was the 5th consecutive loss dating back to last season for the Blowfish to the Bacon, who are 3-0 this season as part of the Southern Summerball Series. Lexington County (4-3, 1-3) currently sit in last place behind Savannah and Macon.

Fans can stream Saturday’s game at www.blowfishbaseball.com or cplbaseball.tv as the governor’s orders preventing them from attending Blowfish games at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
