Lexington County teams are successful at preseason tournaments

Golf and volleyball teams from Gilbert and the River Bluff girls' tennis team all found early success this past weekend.
In golf, the Lady Indians broke a school record with a team score of 316 and finished 2nd overall at the Ponderosa Preview in Batesburg-Leesville. They also hit a school-record 11 birdies, led by medalist Kennedy Gooding (68) and Meredith Price (84) who both shot career lows.
Over at Pelion High School, the Gilbert volleyball team were winners at the preseason Invitational. Meanwhile in Florence, the Lady Gators defeated Cannon High School, Porter-Gaud, Trinity-Byrnes and Catholic Latin in the final to win the preseason tournament.
