A trio of Lexington golfers are in connection heading into the final day of the Women’s South Carolina Golf Association State Amateur tournament at Columbia Country Club.

A 2-under par 70 in the 2nd round left Molly Hardwick of Lexington High School in 2nd place in the championship division with a score of 142. She trails Furman’s Anna Morgan, who also shot 70 Tuesday, by just 1 stroke entering Wednesday’s 3rd round.

Isabella Rawl of Lexington is 5 strokes out of 1st place, while former teammate Gracyn Burgess of Clemson fell into 9th place. Hannah Stephenson of Lexington was 26th and Emily Beiers was 46th.

In the State Division, Louise Givens stood in 5th place.

“I’m very happy with the way that I’ve played so far this week," Hardwick said. "With so many great players in contention, I’m looking forward to an exciting final round.”
