Posted

Through one week of the regular season, Lexington Post 7 remains undefeated on the season.
A 10-run fourth inning lifted Post 7 to a 11-6 win over Aiken Post 26 Monday that improved it to 3-0 on the season.
David Jacobs had four hits, including two during the fourth inning with Lexington trailing 5-1. A 2-run error by Aiken on a groundball hit by Chase Crouch cut the deficit to 5-3.
Another error by Post 26 brought home a run to bring Lexington to within 5-4. Cameron Peterson followed with an RBI double to tie the game.
A fielder's choice by Dalton Landsowne put Post 7 ahead and Chase Crouch drew an RBI walk to extend the lead to 7-5. After Walker McDowell scored on a wild pitch, Jacobs collected his second hit of the inning with a 2-run double.
Jacobs would score on consecutive wild pitches to end the rally.
Garrett Spires belted a solo home run in the sixth off reliever Spencer Wood. Jonathan Howlett entered the game in the seventh and struck out the Aiken batters in order.
The two teams meet again in Aiken Thursday.
