Lexington wins 11th straight region cross-country title

River Bluff tennis ends regular season with region win

Region 5-5A cross-country continues to be dominated by Lexington boys’ and Dutch Fork girls.

The Wildcats repeated as region champions Wednesday at home, claiming their 11th consecutive region title overall.

Chapin’s Jaden Kingsley had the fastest overall time in the boys’ division.

The Lady Silver Foxes also successfully defended their region title, holding off River Bluff whose Madelyn Gomez had the fastest overall time.

The defending Class 5A champion Lady Gators finished Region 5-5A with an undefeated record after defeating the Lady Wildcats.

River Bluff (13-2, 8-0) will play host to the first round of the Class 5A playoffs starting Oct. 25.

The Lady Indians clinched an undefeated record in Region 5-3A in dethroning the defending champions.

Gilbert (19-3, 8-0) will open the Class 3A playoffs Tuesday at home against the fourth place team out of Region 7-3A.
