Blake Knight drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom 7th to give Lexington a 5-4 win over Dutch Fork Monday at home.
The win brought the Wildcats (9-4, 3-1) to within 2 games of Chapin for first place in Region 5-5A. The Eagles' game at River Bluff was postponed to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in The Swamp due to potential bad weather.
Lexington led 3-1 going to the 7th inning. After Braison Bourne walked leadoff hitter Lawson Brand, he was relieved by Cal Herndon, who proceeded to walk Jay Metts.
The next batter, Crosby Jones belted a 3-run homer over the rightfield wall to put the Silver Foxes on top 4-3.
Landon McMahan kicked off a Lexington rally in the bottom half of the 7th with a leadoff double. Doug Webb then hit Herndon and David Cromer in succession to load the bases.
Andrew Fulmer relieved Webb and he allowed a RBI sacrifice fly by Tristan Allen that tied the game. Fulmer then issued a walk to Seth Altenberg and struck out Cole Lemacks before giving up the walkoff RBI walk to Knight
