SATURDAY'S HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL PLAYOFFS - Lexington headed to District final, Dutch Fork, Gray Collegiate stay alive

Five Chronicle Country teams look to avoid elimination on Monday.

A pair of Chronicle Country teams stayed alive in the S.C. High School League playoffs.
Dutch Fork and Gray Collegiate were victorious Saturday and will join Airport, Swansea and White Knoll Monday in competing in elimination games. 
Meanwhile, Lexington High School advanced to Wednesday's Lower State District 7 final. 

Lexington 7, Berkeley 1
University of South Carolina commit Hannah Kumiyama had 3 hits and 3 RBI, Sarah Gordon was 4-4 and Allie Light added a 2-run homer and struck out 10 to lead the Lady Wildcats.
They will play host to the winner of Monday's contest between Berkeley and St. James on Wednesday. 

Dutch Fork 11, James Island 1 (5 innings)
Jillian Price went 3-3 with an RBI and Carolyn Lusk drove in 2 runs as the Lady Silver Foxes eliminated the Lady Trojans from the Class 5A playoffs.
Winning pitcher Morgan Scott had 5 strikeouts and allowed just 1 hit in the win. 
Dutch Fork travels to West Florence Monday in another elimination game. 

Gray Collegiate 11, Barnwell 4
Brooke Tranum belted 2 homers and drove in 2 runs and Jamaria Charley had 3 RBI to lead the Lady War Eagles in the Class 2A Lower State District 5 elimination game.
Emma Buzzhart also had 2 RBI and struck out 5 in 7 innings for the victory.
Gray Collegiate travels to Hannah-Pamplico Monday in another elimination game.
