David Cromer of Lexington and Ricky Williams of River Bluff were high school rivals.
It will continue at the college level with Cromer signing with the University of South Carolina and Williams going to archrival Clemson University.
Monday night at Roscoe Frye Field, the duo and Noah Davis teammed up to lift Lexington Post 7 to a 14-4 victory over Richland Post 215.
Cromer had a team-high 6 RBI, including 2 home runs. Williams scored 3 of his team-high 4 runs off Cromer's bat, had 3 hits and drove in a run in the win.
Davis, who signed with Toccoa Falls College in Georgia, had 2 hits and 4 RBI, including a 3-run homer in the 1st when he and Cromer went back-to-back. Former River Bluff teammates Cam Ferrell and Jacob Lebron also had an RBI.
It was more than enough run support for Kolby Craps. He allowed 8 hits, but struck out 3 in 5 innings of work.
The win improved Lexington to 6-3 overall, 3-1 in the Midlands Division of the S.C. American Baseball Summer League. Post 7 will visit Segra Park for the 3rd time this season and 1st of 2 visits this week when it faces Camden Post 17.
Camden handed Florence Post 1 its 1st loss of the season in a 5-1 road victory Monday.
In other SCABSL games, Chapin/Newberry's road game against Edgefield County was postponed until Tuesday at 7:30 pm. It travels to Lexington Wednesday for the 1st of 2 straight games between the 2 Midlands Division rivals.
West Columbia Post 79 returns to action Wednesday against North Augusta at Midlands Sports Complex.
