Lady Wildcat Invitational starts Friday at Oak Grove Softball Complex

Saige Stanley drove in 3 runs, including a 2-run homer and Sarah Gordan also homered as the Lady Wildcats improved to 2-0 on the season with the 8-2 win over Gray Collegiate 

Ashley Causey also had 3 hits and a RBI and Jaci Fleming had 2 hits and an RBI in support of winning pitcher Hannah Kumiyama. The University of South Carolina-bound senior struck out 5 and allowed 1 hit in 5 innings.

Lexington will open the Lady Wildcat Invitational at 4 p.m. Friday against North Myrtle Beach at Oak Grove Softball Complex.

 

Dutch Fork 4, Chapin 1

Kelcy Putluck drove in 2 runs and Megan Stolzenbach had 2 hits for the Lady Silver Foxes.

Morgan Scott struck out 15 batters and allowed 3 hits in 7 innings for the win.

Dutch Fork will face Lugoff-Elgin Friday to open the Lady Wildcat Invitational.

River Bluff 20, Cardinal Newman 9

Kayla Oswell had 2 RBI and a home run and Kendall Shealy picked up the win for the Lady Gators (3-0).

Pelion 16, Wagener-Salley 3

Lakyn Phillips struck out 14 and allowed no hits and she and Allen Phillips both had 2 hits in the Lady Panthers’ win.

Ashley Walker went 3-4 with 4 RBI and Whitney Craft had 2 hits and 2 RBI.

River Bluff 9, Gilbert 5

A.P. Pelfrey drove in 3 runs as the Lady Gators scored 6 unanswered runs after falling behind 5-3 in the 3rd inning to the Lady Indians.

Madi Craps picked up her 2nd win of the season.

 

BASEBALL

River Bluff 9, North Augusta 1

Ricky Williams struck out 10 and Cam Ferrell had 2 hits as the Gators improved to 5-0 on the season.

 

Batesburg-Leesville 6, Newberry 5

River Bluff 10, Cardinal Newman 0

Noah LeBron had 3 hits and Alex Urban had 2 doubles as the Gators won the 1st of a home-at-home series with the Cardinals.

GIRLS SOCCER

Westwood 2, Pelion 1

Alisha McDaniel scored the game’s first goal and only point for the Lady Panthers, who fell to 1-4 on the season.

Pelion plays its home and Region 5-3A opener Tuesday versus Strom Thurmond.
