The first region home match goes in strong fashion for the River Bluff volleyball team on Thursday.

The Lady Gators (26-7, 3-0) swept White Knoll in 3 sets (25-9, 25-19, 25-10). Up next is a home showdown in The Swamp against archrival and defending Region 5-5A champion Lexington on Tuesday.

Gilbert 3, Pelion 0 (25-6, 25-15, 25-13)

The Lady Indians won their 14th consecutive match in Region 5-3A Thursday and have sole ownership of first place after the first half of the season.

Gilbert (17-2, 4-0) had 12 serving aces and 41 kills.
