The dynamic duo for 3rd ranked Swansea made sure "Seniors Night" was not the only celebration on Tuesday.
Clemson University signee Danae McNeal scored 31 points and Lauryn Robinson added 25 as the Lady Tigers defeated Strom Thurmond 56-45 to clinch the Region 5-3A title in the regular-season home finale.
It was the 3rd consecutive region championship for Swansea (19-2, 6-0), which also extended its winning streak to 14.
"That's what we've been trying to get them to do," Swansea head coach Tamara McNeal-Purdue said. "Try to work in tandem, just try to work with each other as well as their teammates. A lot of times, we just happen to look to them to finish."
Swansea led as many as 20 points in the first half, with McNeal outscoring the Lady Rebels 21-16. An 8-0 run helped Strom Thurmond (13-9, 4-2) cut the deficit to 8 points, but McNeal's baseball jumper to end the third quarter pushed the Lady Tigers' lead back to double digits at 45-35.
Following the game, McNeal and the other senior girls and boys' senior players were honored by the school. She also received a commemorative baseball for scoring her 2,500 career point.
Swansea travels to archrival Pelion Friday and closes out the regular season at Edisto on Feb. 7.
"At this point, we're just trying to get prepared for the playoffs,"  Purdue said. "Trying to get everyone well and back on the floor, just trying to make sure we can come up with their chemistry that we need to make that great playoff run."

Irmo 51, Blythewood 26
Madison Dipico scored 15 points. Se'Niya Brooks added 13 and Jayla Lovett finished with 9 for the Lady Yellow Jackets.
Irmo (12-10, 2-4) travels to Lugoff-Elgin Friday.

Dutch Fork 60, River Bluff 21
Katrice Jackson scored 17 points and Christyonna Jackson added 9 as the Lady Silver Foxes remained perfect in Region 5-5A Tuesday.
They can clinch the region title with a home victory Friday against 8th ranked Lexington.
It was the 27th consecutive loss dating back to last season for the Lady Gators (0-18, 0-5), who were led by Reagan Rozier with 6 points.

Pelion 65, Edisto 48
The Lady Panthers earned their first victory of the season Tuesday night.

North Augusta 93, Airport 33
The 2-time defending Class 4A champions remained undefeated in Region 4-4A Tuesday and snapped the Lady Eagles' 4-game winning streak.
Airport (15-7, 5-2) travels to Aiken Friday.
