The winning spirit continues to run rampant at Dutch Fork High School.
Just 3 days after the football team won its 4th consecutive title, the 7th ranked boys' basketball team improved to 5-1 on the season Tuesday. 
The Silver Foxes defeated Spring Valley 50-43. Octavious Smith had 9 points and Jarvis Green and Houston Jones added 8 points each to lead Dutch Fork. 
Despite having 3 players in double figures, the Vikings' offense struggled against Dutch Fork's defense. They were held scoreless in a 10-0 run in the 1st half which put Dutch Fork ahead for good and outscored 17-7 in the 3rd quarter in falling behind as many as 14 points.
Justice Henderson and Leon Moore each had 12 points and Courtland Shell added 10 for Spring Valley. 
Dutch Fork travels to Dreher on Friday.


River Bluff 56, Fort Mill 42
Myles Jenkins had 17 points, Josh Crenshaw finished with 13 and Malachi Reeves scored 10 as the Gators completed a 3-game homestand sweep on Tuesday. 
River Bluff will now play its next 3 games on the road. It starts Friday at South Aiken.


Airport 39, Pelion 34
Jeremiah Harris scored 11 points and Darius Geiger had 4 free throws down the stretch to lead the Eagles to a 4th straight win.
Niko Austin had 15 points and Tucker Moore finished with 11 for Pelion. 
Airport (4-2) plays host to Swansea Friday, while the Panthers travel to Northside Christian on Thursday.


Midland Valley 66, Gilbert 43
Ty Walker scored 17 points in a losing effort by the Indians, who play host to Ben Lippen Wednesday. 


Midland-Valley 49, Chapin 23 
The contest marked the return of former Mustangs' head coach Mark Snelgrove, who led the program to the Class 3A title in 2015 and sang the national anthem. 
Chapin travels to Mid-Carolina on Friday. 


Irmo 75, Newberry 66
Dylan Williams scored 19 points, C.J. Washington had 13 points and 7 rebounds and Juice Keitt finished with 10 as the 5th ranked Yellow Jackets improved to 5-1 on the season. 
Irmo plays host to Chapin on Saturday. 


Brookland-Cayce 80, Columbia 74
Aubrey Washington scored 24 points, Jahmari Richardson had 13 and Chamar Martin and Zach McCoy each tallied 11 points each for the Bobcats.
B-C (2-2) plays host to Dreher on Wednesday. 


Swansea 55, North 42
Tymir Lowman scored 22 points for the Tigers in their 1st win of the season.
Swansea (1-4) travels to Airport on Friday. 


Aiken 67, Lexington 47

Dutch Fork 65, Spring Valley 19

Meghan Davenport scored 18 points and Kori Peterman had 13 as the 9th ranked Lady Silver Foxes rolled past the 2-time defending Class 5A Lower State champions.
Dutch Fork (2-4) travels to Dreher on Friday. 


Irmo 69, Newberry 34
Maliyiah Mason had 17 points and 11 rebounds, Ehrial Wagstaff had 16 points and 9 steals and Jayla Lovett added 12 points as the Lady Yellow Jackets improved to 5-1 on the season.
Irmo plays host to Chapin on Saturday. 


Chapin 46, Midland Valley 31 
Mackenzie Lott had 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals and Dallas Mayers had 9 points and 6 rebounds to lead the Lady Eagles on Tuesday.
Chapin travels to Mid-Carolina Friday.


Swansea 51, North 28
Lauryn Robinson scored 17 points to lead the 10th ranked Lady Tigers. 


Airport 50, Pelion 10
Jayla Jamison scored 14 points and Zania Thompson finished with 10 for the Lady Eagles.
Airport (4-3) plays host to Swansea Friday, while Pelion travels to Northside Christian on Thursday.


Gilbert 51, Mid-Carolina 34
Madison Price scored 21 points,  Chasity Dent had 10 and Paris Gartmon finished with 9 for the Lady Indians.
Gilbert (3-2) faces Marlboro County on Wednesday.


Lexington 54, Aiken 51 
The Lady Wildcats evened its mark on the season on Tuesday.
Alexis Sexton had a game-high 28 points and Lindsay Garner finished with 12 for Lexington (3-3). It plays host to Brookland-Cayce on Friday.
