Lexington All-State guard Mason Carver will play his final high school basketball game at home.

The Anderson College-bound Carver, along with J.T. Reeves of archrival River Bluff, were selected to play in the North-South All-Star Classic set for March 16 at Lexington High School.

Both players are on the South roster, which will be led by Airport head coach Jimmy Kinard.

The boys’ contest will be preceded by the girls’ contest. Dutch Fork forward Katrice Jackson was the lone Chronicle Country player selected to the girls’ game and will play for the South roster.

SOFTBALL

Lexington 12, Blythewood 2

Allie Light struck out 6 and had 3 hits and 4 RBI for the Lady Wildcats in the 12-2 victory over Blythewood.

Hannah Kumiyama also had 2 hits, including a 2-run homer, and Ashley Causey had 2 hits in the win.

Lexington will travel to West Columbia to face Gray Collegiate Thursday, then take part in the Lady Wildcat Invitational starting Friday at Oak Grove Softball Complex.

 

Batesburg-Leesville 15, Fox Creek 2

Taleah Tolen and Kiara Quattlebaum both homered for the Lady Panthers on Tuesday.

BASEBALL

Midland Valley 10, Airport 0

GIRLS SOCCER

River Bluff 3, Swansea 0

Maddie Poole, Hannah Coats and Rylie Addis all scored goals as the Lady Gators improved to 7-1 on the season.

River Bluff will hope a doubleheader Friday in The Swamp against Blythewood. The varsity girls’ start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys’ at 7 p.m.
