A Spring Break trip to the Magic Kingdom has proven well spent for the Gilbert softball team.

The Lady Indians defeated University 11-0 on Wednesday to go 4-0 at the Disney/ESPN Wide World of Sports Spring Training in Kissimmee, Fla.

Taylor Dreher went 2-3 with 3 RBI and Savana Rosson went 3-3 with 2 RBI for the Lady Indians.

Amaya Kearse picked up the victory.

Jacob LeBron drove in 4 runs and was 1 of 4 Gators with 2 hits as they improved to 3-0 at the Mingo Bay Classic in Myrtle Beach.

Jacob and Noah LeBron, Alex Urban and Austin Glad all went 2-3. Urban and Clemson University commit Ricky Williams also drove in 2 runs.

Williams struck out 3 and allowed 4 hits in 5 innings for the victory.

The Gators’ final opponent for Thursday has yet to be determined.

Chapin 3, Spartanburg 2

University of South Carolina commit Cade Austin  struck out 12 batters and Chris Veach scored twice as the Eagles won their opening contest at the S.C. Diamond Invitational at Blythewood High School.

Chapin managed just 3 hits, but capitalized off 2 Viking errors against another Gamecock commit R.J. Dantin.

A 6th inning rally was not enough to lift the Silver Foxes past the Hurricanes Wednesday in the S.C. Diamond Invitational.

Clemson commit Ty Olenchuk struck out 7 and allowed 3 hits in a losing effort.

Dutch Fork was scheduled to face defending Class 5A champion Dorman at 10:45 p.m.
