What is Carolina paying Shane Beamer?

The Sports Grouch tells it like it is

I’ll admit the Gamecocks negotiated a better deal than they did with Will Muschamp.
So far they appear to have gotten their money's worth.
Coach Shane Beamer shows common sense in who he's hiring.
The Gamecocks’ new head coach is loading his staff with former Gamecocks and Lexington County stars.
He inherited former quarterback Connor Shaw.
Shaw returned to USC last year as director of player development and later quarterbacks coach.
Beamer has kept Shaw but not as QB coach. That went to new offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield.
Beamer added former Dutch Fork and Gamecock QB Erik Kimrey to coach tight ends and former Pelion High star Justin Stepp to coach wide receivers.
The Fade
Kimrey played quarterback at Dutch Fork for his father, Bill Kimrey. His grandmother, father, mother, brothers and wife Erica all attended Carolina.
Many of you will remember Kimrey completing the “Fade” pass 20 years ago.
He came off the bench after QB Phil Petty was injured and his touchdown pass to Jermale Kelly upset Mississippi State 23-19.
As head coach at Hammond School, he created a legacy that included a 194-20 record and 12 state championships, the most by a SC high school coach.
He was the youngest coach to reach 100 victories and 6 consecutive state championships
Those who played for him at Hammond are current Gamecocks Jordan Burch, Alex Huntley, Bradley Dunn and Fabian Goodman.
Coach Beamer said. ““It’s extremely important to have former players.”
Undefeated
Justin Stepp and his twin brother Josh helped the Pelion High Panthers to an unbeaten season in 2000 before Justin became a standout wide receiver and punt returner at Furman.
His brother Josh went on to become head coach and athletic director at Lexington High and now coaches at Georgia State.
Justin Stepp’s coaching career has run from Fort Mill High to North Greenville, Clemson and SMU.
He spent the last 3 seasons as wide receivers coach at Arkansas where he brought in 7 4-star recruits and was and was named a US Top 25 recruiter.
He and his wife Brooke have a son and daughter.
What’s at stake
Many of us thought Athletic Director Ray Tanner made a mistake in hiring Will Muschamp based on his performance at Florida.
Pity the long-suffering fans. We were right, It will cost almost $10 million to get rid of Muschamp.
Beamer got a 5-year deal worth $13.75 million.
Football is an expensive sport but it usually pays the bills for all the other money-losing college sports.
Gamecocks fans are hungry for a return to the glory days of Steve Superior and dominance of Clemson.
Can Shane Beamer and his coaches give it to them?
We’ll have to see.
More than Beamer’s job is on the line. If this doesn’t work, Tanner may be looking for a job, too,
