CO-PLAYERS OF THE YEAR - Layla Sarsa (Lexington) and Chidera Wilson (Gilbert)
The Region 5-5A Player of the Year, All-State selection and team captain, Sarsa had 43 aces, 407 receptions, 331 digs 84 assists and 5 kills as a senior.
An All-State selection, Wilson had a 94 percent service percentage, 47 aces, 149 Kills, 36 digs, and 220 good serve receive passes.
CO-COACHES OF THE YEAR - Eric Shick (Lexington) and Jackie Shealy (Gilbert)
In his 4th season with the Lady Wildcats, Shick guided them to 35 wins, a share of the Region 5-5A title, the Class 5A Lower State title and state runner-up.
The longtime Lady Indians’ coach led her team to 27 victories, a 2nd straight Region 5-3A title, the Class 3A Lower State title and state runner-up.
