7-bedroom Lake Murray mansion sells for $2.3M

A Columbia real estate firm announced the sale of what it says is one of the most expensive properties to change hands on Lake Murray last year.

The waterfront Chapin mansion sold for $2.3 million in December, Yip Premier Real Estate announced and Lexington County property records confirm.

“The seven-bedroom, nine-bath, ultra-luxury home shares a private channel to the lake that is perfect for kayaking or paddle boarding. It also features a boat lift and dock,” a release states about the home at 156 Birdsong Trail.

“The three-story, 8,600-square-foot waterfront home has 200 feet of shoreline on an acre lot with in-ground pool, gazebo, spa, outdoor fireplace, multiple porches, dual recreational rooms, a cinema and studio space.”

As of Feb. 13, Lake Homes listed just two homes for sale on the lake asking for more than $2.1 million, with the most expensive property being a five-bed, seven-bath home on 3.4 acres in Chapin listed for $3.4 million.

Yip’s release states that the Birdsong Trail home was built in 2008.

"We had strong interest in this property from buyers from around the country,” Karen Yip, who brokered the sale, is quoted. “Lake Murray continues to be a draw for many, and this one-of-kind estate offers what many ultra luxury buyers seek – custom quality construction and design, privacy, and expansive space.”
