Lexington Post 7 finds itself playing to stay alive in the SC American Legion baseball tournament following Monday’s 7-6 opening round loss to Camden Post 17 at Lexington High School.

Lexington (12-5) trailed 6-2 when it rallied for 4 runs in the bottom 5th. Weston Lever of River Bluff had a RBI single, fellow Gator Ethan Plyler followed with a 2-run double and Lexington’s Wells Sykes tied the game with a sacrifice fly.

Camden (14-4) regained the lead in the top 7th on Jacob Jordan’s RBI double. Lexington failed to score in its final at-bat and will now travel to James Island Charter High School to face Charleston in a 7 pm Wednesday elimination game.

Charleston was shut out 4-0 by Florence, which will face Camden Wednesday.
