Make America self-reliant again

Nephron Pharmaceuticals leads the way with new nitrile glove plant

Posted

it’s no secret China and many other enemies want to rob us of our independence.
They welcome misguided American greenies’ efforts to reduce our productivity and make us more dependent on China for our products and services.
Nephron Pharmaceuticals is doing something about this.
The Lexington County company plans to open a $100 million medical grade nitrile glove making operation here. As a separate company, it will create 250 new Lexington County jobs.
Partnerships with SC and Korean businesses have helped in  the construction of the new Nephron Nitrile plant.
Nephron owners Lou and Bill Kennedy joined Gov. Henry McMaster in announcing the new business partnership last week.
With Nephron Nitrile’s new plant near completion, their 1st-year goal is 3 billion gloves. To do that the plant will be open 24 hours a day every day.
The governor has a lofty but sensible goal: to make us a manufacturing mecca for the world.
That’s what China has done.
Why not South Carolina?
He said his executive orders created an opportunity zone to help Nephron and other SC manufacturers expand.
Lou Kennedy said, “We have poured every bit of creativity, energy and resources we have at our disposal into doing our part, as a proud Made-in-America manufacturer, to respond to an unprecedented crisis.
“Nephron Nitrile is the latest part of our ongoing effort to make South Carolina the nationwide example for effectively responding to America’s needs, this time by shoring up the domestic supply chain.”
She said the entire Nephron team made reducing our dependence on foreign sources of critical health care-related items, such as personal protective equipment (PPE) and lifesaving medications, a top priority.
Nephron has become a major player in boosting the economy in the Midlands.
They have become a business model for the rest of us.
