The Gamecock men’s basketball team lost a pair of home SEC contests last week. South Carolina came close to earning upset wins over No. 5 Flordia and No. 14 Mississippi but fell to 0-7 in conference play. Leading by 14 in the second half, the Gamecocks allowed Flordia to come from behind and hit a game-winning layup with five seconds left. In their next outing, South Carolina rallied from a 14-point deficit but lost to the Bulldogs in overtime.
