A Swansea High School student is charged with making direct threats against students on a school bus.

Steven Isaac Smith, 18, made verbal threats to take the lives of others and inflict bodily harm upon another person, according to an arrest warrant.

While riding the bus to school Tuesday, Smith threatened to “shoot this bus up,” according to the warrant.

Smith was arrested at Swansea High Thursday. He’s being held in the Lexington County Detention Center while he awaits a bond hearing.

He has been suspended from school pending a district hearing, according to Lexington District 4's Lisa Ingram.
