Tim Jones murder trial could start as early as Monday

Jury selection in the trial of a Red Bank father charged with murdering his 5 children continues in Lexington this week.

Circuit Court Judge Eugene C. Griffith Jr. told potential jurors Monday the trial could begin by next Monday or Tuesday.

Timothy Ray Jones Jr., the father accused of strangling his 4 children and beating a 5th to death in 2014, faces the death penalty if found guilty. The children were between 1 and 8 years old.

He has pled not guilty by reason of insanity.
