Lexington Medical Center has opened up the doors to two more facilities in the Midlands.

The two new centers include the Lexington Medical Park Forest Acres and the LMC Lexington Medical Park 2.

According to a release, the medical park sits adjacent to LMC Lexington and is located at 103 Thompson St. The 33,612-square-foot building houses Lexington Pediatric Practice, Internal Medicine Associates and Lexington Women’s Care Lexington.

“By combining our West Columbia and Lexington locations at this state-of-the-art facility, patients throughout Lexington County have improved access to comprehensive outpatient care at Internal Medicine Associates,” Kate Zannella, vice president in physician network administration, is quoted saying in the release. “Our new location enhances patient experience and improve efficiencies for our providers and staff.”

The release adds that Internal Medicine Associates features exam rooms, provider offices, injection and blood draw rooms and a laboratory. Meanwhile, Lexington Women’s Care Lexington features exam rooms, shared provider offices with dictation space, ultrasound, a laboratory, and procedure and nonstress testing rooms. Last but not least, Lexington Pediatric Practice features color-accented exam rooms, provider offices, a laboratory and dictation and conference rooms.

Located at 5143 Forest Dr. in Columbia, the Forest Acres location is a 22,300-square-foot building that is home to Lexington Family Practice Forest Acres, South Carolina OB/GYN Associates Forest Acres and an imaging center.

The release states that the OB/GYN portion of the building features exam rooms, provider offices, mammography, a laboratory, and an ultrasound and procedure room. David C. Holladay, MD, FACOG, Chandler Finney Inabinet, MD, FACOG, R. Yates Knowlton Jr., MD, FACOG and Rebecca Ridenhour, MD, FACOG will serve residents out of this portion of the building, according to the release.

The family practice features exam rooms, provider offices, X-ray, a laboratory and consultation and dictation rooms. Within the practice, Sarah S. Cottingham, MD, and Kate Gordon, MD, will serve the residents.

“We have wanted to bring Lexington Family Practice to the Forest Acres community for several years, and we’re happy to open the doors on our 13th location at this new facility,” Terri Dooley, vice president in physician network administration, is quoted saying in the release. “The staff and providers at Lexington Family Practice Forest Acres look forward to caring for those who live and work in this growing area.”

Additionally, 13 nurses have been recognized with the Lexington Medical Centers Gold Recognition.

According to the release, the winners include Lisa Brown, Mandi Cowsert, Tammy Crawford, Kelly Floyd, Sarita Franks, Susie King, Leann Moody, Angela Quarters, Marrett Rawls, Heidi Reno, Emily Scher, Kelli Stenger and Courtney Tucker.

The release states that since 2006, LMC Gold has used this recognition to honor nurses for their commitment to patients and the nursing profession.

In order to achieve this, aware nurses are nominated by their peers.

“These nurses display excellence in practice and leadership, participate in professional organizations and development, and contribute to the advancement of nursing, as well as provide patients with the best possible care,” the release reads.
