Mary Poppins (play)

Don’t miss the opening night of “Mary Poppins” at the Village Square Theatre (105 Caughman Rd.). The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. and tickets cost between $18 and $22. Beth Inabinett (concert)

Popular Columbia vocalist Beth Inabinett and Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) present “A Night of Soulful Grooves.” Expect to hear hits and classics by Soul II Soul, Jill Scott, Sade, Soul 4 Real, The Fugees, Erykah Badu, Bob Marley/Lauryn Hill, The Brand New Heavies, Donell Jones, Sunshine Anderson, Next & Musiq SoulChild, and more. Sewrority Sisters Silent Auction

The non-profit group, Sewrority Sisters, hosts a silent auction at First Baptist Church of Lexington (415 Barr Rd.). The proceeds of this fundraiser will help the Sewrority Sisters to obtain materials needed to continue their efforts of providing comfort quilts to the cancer patients at Lexington Medical Center. There will be many great auction items to bid on including a Sunset Dolphin Cruise, Charleston Carriage Tour, gift baskets, and more! Mother’s Day Dance & Potluck

Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St. in West Columbia) hosts a Mother’s Day Dance & Potluck. Bring your mom (or your kids Mom) to the dance, enjoy some bluegrass, country and gospel music, and dig in to some delicious, homemade food. This event is free to attend. Trinity Car Show

Trinity Baptist Church (2003 Charleston Hwy. in Cayce) hosts their first annual Trinity Car Show. Whether you’re a fan of classic rides, modern sports cars, antique gems, exotic designs, custom builds, or original designs, they’ll be on site, along with a special Kids’ Choice award and local food trucks. This event is free to attend for spectators. On-site registration for those participating in the car show kicks off at 10 a.m., with voting from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony at 2:30 p.m. All money collected from registration is going to benefit VAlanthropy. Spring Open House

The Lexington County Museum (231 Fox St.) hosts their annual Spring Open House. This event allows visitors to explore the grounds and buildings of the Lexington County Museum and learn about the history of the county. There are also blacksmithing, soap-making, and cooking demonstrations. Free refreshments will also be provided. The open house runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is free to attend. Comic & Toy Show

The Barnyard Flea Market (4414 Augusta Rd.) hosts a Comic & Toy Show. Local vendors from across the East Coast come together for this sale, which includes Golden Age through Modern comics, toys, cards, local artists and more. Hen’s Night Out

The FARM 1780 (1127 Corley Mill Rd.) hosts another edition of Hen’s Night Out. The Hitmen (concert)

A Flock of Seagulls (concert)
