Swansea, Chapin police make arrests for attempted murder, indecent exposure

Police in Chapin and Swansea recently announced arrests — one following a Halloween party shooting, the other for indecent exposure. 

Chapin Police arrested Raheem Jamar Wilson, 32, for the latter offense, they posted..


“This occurred at the Chapin Coin Laundry, at 1419 Chapin Road, where the suspect was reported to be engaging in inappropriate behavior,” the department posted to facebook. “Thanks to a vigilant citizen, who reported the incident, our officers quickly responded, gathered statements and evidence, leading to the suspect's arrest.

“Your proactive reporting helps us maintain safety and prevent future crimes, which is the primary reason for this release.”

Per the jail’s website, Wilson remains in custody at the Lexington County Detention Center following his Jan. 30  arrest, with bond having been denied.

Swansea Police announced that they along with the Fugitive Unit of the state Law Enforcement Division arrested 31-year-old Arthur James Hodge, Jr. of Salley for a shooting that occurred at a Halloween party at a local bar.

“Officers from the Swansea Police Department along with the SLED Fugitive Unit located Hodge at a Cayce motel,” the department posted to Facebook. “Hodge is accused of shooting a club bouncer after a verbal dispute turned physical. The incident took place at the Amici Tavern located at 1041 Savannah Hwy.”

He is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Per the Lexington County Detention Center’s website, Hodge remains in custody there following his Jan. 30 arrest, bond having been denied.Close Window
