Former Airport High School administrator pleads guilty to harassment

Posted

Dawn Proffitt Diimmler, a former Airport High School assistant principal, accused of having a sexual relationship with a 19-year old student, has pleaded guilty to second degree harassment.

Richland County court records reveal that Diimmler, 43, entered a guilty plea to the charges on Friday, Dec. 21.
She was sentenced to 30 days or a $200 fine.

Diimmler was arrested on Feb, 24, and charged with two counts of sexual battery with a student over whom she had direct supervision.

The second charge, filed in Lexington County, is still pending.

According to a City of Cayce press release from February, Diimmler was engaged in an ‘alleged relationship’ with a 19-year-old student of Airport High School, while she was the school’s assistant principal.
The dates of the alleged relationship were between March 10, 2017 and June 2, 2017.

Diimmler was accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with the student on two occasions while at the school. The two were also accused of meeting in Richland County.

It is illegal in SC for a person working at the school in an ‘official capacity’ to have sex with a student, regardless of their age.

Diimmler’s contract was terminated by Lexington School District Two in February, before the charges were made public, following claims of an “unprofessional relationship” with a student. She had worked at the district since 2012.
