Free covid-19 testing Tuesday at White Knoll High

Posted

At the request of Senator Katrina Shealy, Lexington Medical Center and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control will provide free covid-19 testing at White Knoll High School next week.

Tests will be given June 2 from 10 am – 3 pm at 5643 Platt Springs Rd, Lexington.

The free testing is open to everyone. Individuals do not need to have symptoms. No appointments are necessary.

For testing, drive to the entrance of parking lot “C.” Clinicians will administer the tests in a drive-thru format. Patients do not need to get out of their cars.

Testing for covid-19 involves inserting a 6-inch long swab into the cavity between the nose and mouth for 15 seconds and rotating it several times. Clinicians repeat the swab on the other side of the nose.

DHEC is providing the test kits, which will go to 3rd-party laboratories for processing.

Further questions about testing should be directed to DHEC at www.scdhec.gov or (803) 898-3432.
