Northeast Richland County residents will have a new health care option next month.
Lexington Medical Center Northeast will begin a phased opening in mid-March.
This may create more than 500 jobs as new physician practices are added.
According to LMC public relations manager Jennifer Wilson, the 1st phase will include urgent care, imaging including MRIs, CT scans and X- rays and physical therapy.
More practices and services will be added in the summer.
The new 225,000-sq.-ft. medical facility at Clemson and Longtown roads has been under construction since June 2019.
It was originally expected to open last fall.
Plans call for outpatient surgery in 3 operating rooms, occupational therapy, a walking trail and classroom space.
4 floors will house medical specialists.
