Taco Bell's seasoned beef recalled for contamination with metal shavings

You may want to steer clear of Taco Bell for a little while.

The manufacturer of its seasonsed beef taco and burrito filling is recalling the product due to contamination with metal shavings.

Kenosha Beef International, out of Columbus, Ohio, is recalling an undetermined amount of the seasoned beef after the firm received 3 customer complaints Oct. 12.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service says some product may still be in restaurant refrigerators.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 10130” on the case. These items were shipped to 5 distribution centers, and from there shipped to restaurant locations nationwide.

Restaurants who have purchased these products are urged not to serve them.

These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Consumers and members of the media with questions about the recall can contact Dennis Vignieri, President and CEO, Kenosha Beef International, at (262) 859-2272, ext. 1205.
