Byron Paul Gunter, 37, of Lexington, has been identified as the individual who died in a single-vehicle accident on Oct. 23. 

The accident occurred at 9:15 p.m. in the 2800 block of Calks Ferry Road. According to the press release, Gunter was traveling east on Calks Perry Road when his vehicle left the right side of the road and hit a tree. 

Gunter was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner's Office will continue to investigate the incident.
