Gilbert vs. Lexington - Week 0
The Lexington County rivals open the season against each other for the second year in a row. Lexington dominated last year’s contest on its home field, winning 24-0. The Indians won the last time the game was held on its field back in 2023.
Last year’s meeting was Gilbert’s Ozzie Exume’s first game as a head coach. This year, the roles are reversed as this is the first game at Lexington for head coach Stewart Young.
Dutch Fork vs. Spartanburg - Week 1
The defending 5A Division I champs will kick off their season at home against Spartanburg. The Vikings have become a staple of Dutch Fork’s non-region schedule, with the two teams now playing for a fifth season in a row.
Spartanburg is frequently in championship game contention and is a good test for the Silver Foxes to see how they stack up against the best in 5A football early on.
Irmo vs. Butler (N.C.) - Week 2
Irmo will welcome Charlotte’s Butler to town as the two will play each other for the second year in a row.
Yellow Jacket coach Aaron Brand started his career in Charlotte and is familiar with the Butler program. The pair’s game last season was a thrilling back-and-forth that wasn’t decided until overtime. Irmo won that meeting by a single point and was its closest game until losing to Dutch Fork in the regular season finale.
Gray Collegiate vs. Dutch Fork - Week 3
Two of the area’s top projected teams will face off in week three as Gray Collegiate hosts Dutch Fork for its 2025 home opener.
The Silver Foxes thrashed the War Eagles in their den last season. Gray is looking to bounce back this season after sanctions ended their 2024 year early.
Chapin vs. Summerville - Week 4
Chapin welcomes Summerville to town for its final game of the non-region slate.
Summerville projects to be one of the best teams in the state and will be a good gauge for Chapin before the Eagles begin a daunting region season.
Gray Collegiate vs. North Augusta - Week 5
Before its sanctions, Gray Collegiate was a contender for the 4A Region 4 title. The War Eagles were four points away and knocking off the eventual champions, North Augusta, but fell short.
If the War Eagles want to make a run at a region or even state championship, the team will first have to dethrone North Augusta. This meeting could very well serve as a pseudo-championship game.
White Knoll vs. River Bluff - Week 6
Like last season, 5A Region 4 is full of highly touted teams. White Knoll and River Bluff have similar projections this season, and their meeting could be crucial in determining the final standings and playoff seeding.
The game last season went to overtime and swung in River Bluff’s favor. White Knoll won the year before that.
White Knoll vs. Dutch Fork - Week 7
White Knoll continues its gauntlet through the region with a game against Dutch Fork in week seven.
This rematch of the 2023 5A state championship will draw a lot of attention. White Knoll became the first team in the region to dethrone Dutch Fork and take the conference title back in 2023. The Silver Foxes claimed their spot back in 2024 and will have to go through White Knoll again to do so in 2025.
Gilbert vs. Brookland-Cayce - Week 8
Gilbert and Brookland-Cayce have been on similar trajectories the past few seasons. Both schools made the jump from 3A to 4A last season and are looking to contend in the postseason once again.
Their meeting last season was one of the most electric games of the year, with 14 total touchdowns and zero punts. Gilbert scored a two-point conversion to go ahead, and the Bearcats missed a field goal to end the game.
Swansea vs. Fox Creek - Week 9
Swansea saw a significant turnaround in year one under head coach Willie Fox. The Tigers improved their win count by seven games and were a contender for the region title in the season’s final few weeks.
If Swansea wants to be a contender again this season, they will need to win every region game possible.
Irmo vs. Dutch Fork - Week 10
The cross-town rivalry between Irmo and Dutch Fork was probably the most attended game in Lexington County last season. The stands at the Silver Foxes’ stadium overflowed on both teams’ sides of the field as if the entire town of Irmo showed up to watch.
This year’s meeting should be just as anticipated, with both teams projected to be contenders for the state and region titles.
