Two individuals died and one was injured in a July 5 shooting in the Batesburg-Leesville area of Saluda County. Batesburg-Leesville has areas in Lexington and Saluda counties.

The shooting happened just after midnight on Sunday, according to a press release from the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department. Officers went to the 500 block of Solomon Street after reports of the shooting were made.

“Upon arrival, officers encountered a large number of individuals gathered in the area and located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds,” according to the release.

Two were pronounced dead at the scene while the third victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
