Twenty-six dogs are at risk of being euthanized as Lexington County Animal Services’ building undergoes renovations, limiting available kennels.

On Monday, March 9, the animal shelter called for potential adopters and fosters via Facebook, noting that they’re 18 kennels short and will continue to operate at reduced capacity in the coming weeks as renovations continue.

The shelter’s current capacity is 92 dogs, but they have a total population of 118.

For the month of March, cats’ and dogs’ adoption fees are $10 each, according to the Facebook post.

View the shelter’s adoptable pets at 24petconnect.com. Enter your Lexington County zipcode to view them.
