American Legion Honors State Champion Lexington Post 7 Juniors

American Legion Lexington Post 7 held a special ceremony at its headquarters honoring the state champion Junior baseball team. 

The team was presented with  state championship T-shirts by Legion  commander David Griffith, who also received the state tournament trophy. 

The Junior team defeated Clinton in the opening round and rallied from an 0-1 deficit to beat North Augusta in the second round to advance to the state tournament. They defeated Mid-Carolina, Greer, Sumter and South Florence in the championship to win the title at Legion Field in Greenwood. 
During the state tournament, Lexington outscored its four opponents 44-19 and finished with a 15-7 record.

Catcher Lincoln Hill was named tournament MVP after he batted 8-17 with nine RBI and Tradd Burton led the team in batting average, runs, stolen bases and RBI. Pitcher Dalton Taylor led the team in ERA (1.52) and Jackson Burton led in strikeouts (21).
