The Archaeological Society of South Carolina will host its annual Archaeology Fall Field Day on Oct. 11 at the Cayce Historical Museum.
The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 1800 12th St. Free parking will be available around City Hall and Granby Park.
Exhibitors will line the museum’s avenue and include representatives from the Horry County Museum’s Living History Farm, the South Carolina Military Museum, the Revolutionary War 250th Commission and others.
This year’s program will feature Catawba pottery, living history demonstrations, lessons on 19th-century brickmaking, 3D modeling of historic small boats, a preview of David Brinkman’s new "12,000 Years in One-Square Mile" video game, ground-penetrating radar demonstrations and additional archaeology demonstrations.
Attendees can also bring their findings for identification by precontact and historical archaeologists.
Local barbecue plates will be on sale, and a live auction fundraiser will begin at 12:30 p.m.
