Christmas in Batesburg was held on Sunday, Dec. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Batesburg business district. Many of the businesses were open to celebrate this special time of the year. The Batesburg-Leesville High School had a band ensemble playing Christmas carols. Hot Chocolate and a variety of cookies were given to attendees free. There were tables set up where children could make Christmas ornaments. Horse-drawn carriage rides were provided, and several of the businesses were open for shopping and dining. Snow-making machines were popular with the children, and Christmas music was played for everyone to hear.
