Batesburg-Leesville Brew Fest happening Aug. 9

A new summer event featuring craft beer, food trucks, live music and vendors is set to debut Aug. 9 in downtown Batesburg-Leesville.

The inaugural Batesburg-Leesville Brew Fest will take place in the Leesville Business District and is being organized by Homeland Craft Beer & Wine. The event will bring together more than 20 breweries from South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia, along with regional musicians, artisans, and nonprofit groups.

"Brew Fest was created to be more than just a beer event," Dawn Jacobs, Co-Owner of Homeland Craft Beer & Wine, said in a press release. "It’s a way to gather, to celebrate what makes our town special, and to support the people and businesses who make it thrive."

Guests will also have the option to make donations to Cotton Branch Farm Sanctuary, a local nonprofit that rescues and rehabilitates animals.

"This is an event built around connection," Rosemary Knowlton, Co-Owner of Homeland, said in the release. "Whether it’s connecting over a new beer, finding a new favorite food, or discovering a cause to support, we hope people walk away feeling more rooted in this community."

General admission and VIP tickets are available at www.homeland.beer/brewfest. Vendor and volunteer applications remain open through the event website.

“The event is proudly supported by Presenting Sponsors: Cotton Branch Farm Sanctuary, ValAsta, and Batesburg-Leesville Animal Hospital, all of whom share a commitment to local impact and community enrichment,” according to the release.
