Batesburg-Leesville special election to take place Feb. 17 to fill current mayor's former council seat

A special election to fill the Town of Batesburg-Leesville District Two seat will be held Feb. 17, with three candidates seeking the position.  

The candidates are Todd Antonovich, Terry H. Bradley and Chip Spradley, according to South Carolina Election Commission data.

The seat became vacant after David W. Bouknight, who represented District Two for two years, won the mayor’s race against Stephen “Steve” Cain in the 2025 election.

According to official results, Bouknight earned 718 votes across the two counties, making up for 63% of the vote. Cain earned 413 votes across the two counties, making up for 36% of the vote.
