The African American Historical Society of Irmo is hosting a Black History exhibit throughout February. This will take place at the Lexington County Library—Irmo Branch, located at 6251 St. Andrews Rd. in Columbia. Hours coincide with the library’s operating hours.
The Richland Library is hosting Black History Month Storytime for families and young children throughout February. These will take place on Feb. 15, Feb. 20, Feb. 21, Feb. 22, and Feb. 27. These will take place at various library branches, including Ballentine, Blythewood, Cooper, Edgewood, Richland, Main, Sandhills, Northeast and Southeast.
Friends of African American Art and Culture (FAAAC) invites the public to their Black Art Pokeno night on Feb. 15 at the Columbia Museum of Art. Attendees can enjoy a night of playing Pokeno, winning prizes, and spending time with friends. Individual tickets cost $55 and are $45 for FAAAC members. Couples’ tickets cost $100 and $80 for those who are FAAAC members. Doors open at 6 p.m., and Pokeno runs from 7 to 9 p.m.
