Crosland, who has more than 26 years of experience in state and local government, had been serving as interim city manager. A South Carolina native, Crosland previously served as assistant city manager and assistant director of the Cayce Department of Public Safety.

Crosland also has a background in the United States Coast Guard and holds an associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice. Crosland worked in various roles including canine officer, narcotics detective, patrol sergeant and police instructor. In 2016, he became the department’s assistant director.
