River Allen Mathis, 26, of Cayce, was arrested July 31 on one charge connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor.

The felony offense is punishable by up to 10 years' imprisonment.

The press release states that Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Investigators said Mathis distributed files of child sexual abuse material.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
