Michael Joseph Timo, 34, has been charged with misconduct in office, because according to the arrest warrant, Timo had sex with a woman near his Cayce Police Department vehicle while on duty while wearing his uniform. Warrants state that this happened in the parking lot of the Cayce Tennis Court Complex on March 29, 2025.

“The Cayce Police Department received a complaint and allegation that Officer Michael Timo was engaging in conduct that was not consistent with the standards and expectations of our law enforcement officers,” a Cayce spokesperson told the media. “Given the seriousness of the allegation, Cayce Police Chief Bruce Wade immediately referred the matter to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) for an independent and thorough investigation.”

Timo was hired by the department in October of 2022 and was formally let go from the department on Friday, June 6. 

Timo was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center and will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
