Child killed in Lexington County house fire

On Saturday, March 15, a fire occurred in the 500 block of Canal Drive in the Pelion area of Lexington County.
Two-year-old Remede Pridgen died in the fire. Coroner Margaret Fisher revealed that the cause of death was smoke inhalation after an autopsy was performed at The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) on March 17.
SLED Arson, The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office will continue to investigate this incident.
