Standly Stampson, 27, of Columbia, has been identified by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher as the man who died while riding a bicycle in the Columbiana Centre Mall parking lot last week.
The vehicle versus bicycle accident happened on Columbiana Circle in the Columbia area of Lexington County at about 10:40 a.m. on May 10, according to a release from the coroner.
The release says Stampson was biking southbound in the mall parking lot when he was hit by a vehicle driving westbound.
“Mr. Stampson, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries,” according to the release. “The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.”
