Irmo's Archers Lane bridges project nears completion of 1st bridge, 2nd bridge to undergo construction soon

A bridge on Archers Lane in Irmo, between Treeslope Court and Shadetree Court near Irmo Town Park, is nearing the end of its replacement and reconstruction. 

Part of the Archers Lane Bridge Replacement Project, Bridge 6734 is set to reopen next week, according to the town. 

Another bridge, Bridge 6735, located nearby between Twin Creek Court and Hunters Blind Drive, is set to close during the week of Feb. 16. Also part of the Archers Lane Bridge Replacement Project, this bridge's replacement has an estimated completion date in December 2026. 

A signed detour is in place. 

Lexington County awarded the Archers Lane Bridge Replacement project to AOS Specialty Contractors on June 10, 2025, according to the town. 

Public Lexington County Council documents from June 2025 show that the county received two bids for the project. AOS Specialty Contractors of Lexington estimated the project would cost $3,556,785.85, while Dane Construction of Mooresville, N.C., estimated the project would cost $3,677,242.50.

New traffic lights have been installed at the intersection of Broad River Road and Farming Creek Road, not far from the Walmart Supercenter on Dutch Fork Road. 

SCDOT is resurfacing North Royal Tower Road from the railroad tracks to Chapelwhite Road, not far from Friarsgate Park.
