Columbia, S.C. – Lake Murray is once again earning national recognition, securing a nomination for “Best Lake for Water Sports” in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for the third consecutive year. Following its 1st place win in the 2025 awards, the Capital City/Lake Murray Country region is rallying support in hopes of claiming the top spot once again.
Voting for the USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards is underway now and will close on May 25, 2026, at 11:59 a.m. EDT. The public is invited to vote daily via the USA Today 10Best website. The top ten winners will be announced on June 3, 2026.
This latest nomination reinforces Lake Murray’s reputation as a leading destination for water-based recreation in the Southeast and across the country.
